This impressive basin bears a four-character apocryphal Shunzhi Nian Zhi mark on the base, an homage to the esteemed porcelain production of the early Qing emperors. The piece utilizes a ge-type crackle glaze, providing a highly textured, complex backdrop to the vibrant underglaze blue decoration. A dark metal-bound rim anchors the upper edge, an intentional addition typical of the period used to protect the deliberately crazed rim and give the piece a refined profile.

The exterior and interior walls display a continuous, meticulously hand-painted motif of blooming peonies and scrolling leafy vines. At nearly 15 inches in diameter, this basin carries immense visual weight, making it an exceptional focal point for traditional, Chinoiserie, or eclectic interiors. The scale, historical firing techniques, and exceptional preservation make it a remarkable acquisition for serious collectors of antique export porcelain.

Specs
Maker: Unknown
Year Made: 1900
Materials: Porcelain, Underglaze Blue, Metal
Dimensions: 5.5" H x 14.75" W x 14.75" D

Condition
The bowl remains in excellent antique condition with no structural cracks, chips, or restorations.
