The underside features the hand-painted iron-red "Dai Nippon Kutani Zo" (Great Japan Kutani Made) mark, a signature specifically used for high-quality export wares during Japan’s golden era of ceramic production.
The jar is decorated in the Kinrande (gold brocade) style, featuring a continuous landscape of cranes—symbols of longevity—navigating a lush garden of wisteria and irises. The artistry reflects the transition from traditional Japanese aesthetics to the ornate detailing demanded by Western collectors in the late 19th century. Unlike mass-produced mid-century pieces, the fine line work and varied enamel thickness indicate a hand-painted origin from one of the specialized kilns in the Ishikawa Prefecture.

Specifications
• Maker/Artist: Kutani Workshop (Marked Dai Nippon Kutani Zo)
• Year Made: Circa 1890–1910
• Materials: High-fire Porcelain, Iron-Red Enamel, 24k Gold Gilt
• Dimensions: 11" H x 6.5" W x 6.5" D

Condition
Excellent antique condition.
