Produced by the Morimura Brothers—the historic predecessors to Noritake—this piece carries the coveted purple wreath backstamp, securely dating its production between 1911 and 1921.

The low-profile form is beautifully divided into hand-painted panels depicting delicate pink wild roses and soft green foliage. Each vignette is framed by meticulous, raised gold-beaded borders executed in the traditional moriage style. Heavy, bright gilding completely washes the twin integrated loop handles and rings the perimeter, while an intricate, classical gold medallion anchors the center of the well. This elegant vessel represents the peak of early 20th-century Japanese craftsmanship, making it a highly collectible addition to any fine porcelain collection or a sophisticated accent for a historical vanity or table setting.

Specs
• Maker/Artist: Morimura Bros.
