Geissler gained international recognition for his precise, highly detailed architectural streetscapes and landscapes. Executed in 1920, these particular works depict the historic White Tower in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and the dramatic pentagonal tower entrance to Nuremberg Castle. The masterful command of line and shadow documents the historic architecture of Bavaria while securing the enduring collectability of Geissler's catalog. With both pieces retaining the artist's original handwritten German titles and signatures in the lower margins, this pairing provides a rare opportunity to acquire a cohesive set of premium European printmaking.

Specs
Maker/Artist: Paul Geissler
Year Made: 1920
Materials: Paper, ink, paper matting
Dimensions: 16.0 x 12.5 x 0.25 inches (overall mat size per piece)

Condition
These etchings present beautifully with clean ink impressions, while the heavy paper mats exhibit light edge wear and minor age-related foxing on the margins.
