Rather than a standard flat carving, she used the natural growth rings and a large knot in the wood to create a sunburst effect behind the bugling elk.
The piece is carved into a thick, heavy slab with the original bark left on the "live" edges. The depth of the carving is substantial, giving a 3D effect to the elk, the distant cows, and the hoof track in the corner. It is hand-signed on the front and includes a pre-installed hanger.

Specifications
• Maker: Sue Cockrell
• Materials: Live-edge wood slab, stain, clear finish, metal sawtooth hanger
• Dimensions: 14.5" x 15.5" x 3"

Condition
The carving is in excellent shape.
