Founded in Montelupo Fiorentino, Italy, the Bitossi factory has a lineage of ceramic production dating back to 1536. Under the visionary art direction of Aldo Londi starting in 1946, the studio transformed traditional clay into an international language of modernist luxury. While the studio is most widely known for its Rimini Blu collection, Londi's mastery extended into more architectural, earthy designs like the Seta line. This specific pitcher showcases the collection's signature sgraffito texture, where precise geometric linear patterns are incised directly into the clay. The intricate color banding is elevated by genuine gold detailing that catches the light and adds immense visual depth to the underlying form. Surviving examples with this level of historical significance and material quality are increasingly rare, offering a pristine, investment-grade ceramic for the dedicated collector of fine mid-century design.

Specs
Maker/Artist: Aldo Londi for Bitossi
Year Made: 1960s
Materials: Ceramic, Gold Glaze
Dimensions: 11.5" H x 6.5" W x 4.5" D

Condition
This piece remains in excellent vintage condition with no major chips or structural cracks.
