Tested via Presidium as authentic nephrite, the piece utilizes a pierced, reticulated carving technique to create depth and lightness within the solid stone. Carved on both sides, the artist deliberately incorporated the rough, natural russet skin of the original material into the lower wing of the butterfly. This intentional use of organic inclusions demonstrates advanced artisanal skill and connects the finished piece directly back to its natural origins. The butterfly motif historically symbolizes longevity and joy, making this pendant highly collectible for both its verified material quality and its rich cultural provenance.

Specs
Year Made: 1950s
Materials: Carved Nephrite Jade
Dimensions: 2.375" H x 2.375" W x 0.125" D

Condition
The carved stone remains entirely intact with natural russet inclusions and minor surface wear consistent with age.
