During the latter half of the 20th century, German crystal production was world-renowned for its clarity and "fire," a result of the 24% lead oxide content which increases the refractive index of the glass. Jonal pieces are often sought after by collectors for their whimsical subject matter and substantial, heavy feel.

This particular figurine depicts a seated teddy bear cradling a heart against its chest. The smooth, polished surfaces and rounded forms are characteristic of the "ice-sculpture" style popularized in mid-to-late century crystal design. Because of the enduring popularity of teddy bear motifs and the prestige of German glass manufacturing, these pieces remain staple collectibles for glass enthusiasts and make for sentimental heirloom gifts.

Condition Report
This figurine is in excellent vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or deep scratches present. The crystal remains bright and clear with no "clouding." The original silver foil label is still intact on the bottom, though it shows minor age-related wear.

The Specs:
Dimensions: 3 inches tall, 2 inches wide
Weight: Approx. 6-8 oz
Materials: 24% Full Lead Crystal
Year Made: Circa 1985
Maker: Jonal

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1029/1327/8133/files/p1_73aa50dc-afa2-4115-9b34-149e9a343713.jpg?v=1788580831
https://thegildedfossicker.com/products/vintage-jonal-crystal-teddy-bear-figurine-24-lead-crystal-west-germany-ef328088
