Commissioned by the renowned New York giftware firm Marks & Rosenfeld (M&R), this piece represents a period when American distributors sought to bring the refined aesthetic of European "Sèvres-style" porcelain to the domestic market. The central medallion portrays a classical scene of three figures in a lush landscape, framed by a meticulously hand-painted gold filigree border. The scalloped, rectangular form is adorned with a continuous vine and floral pattern in gold gilt, elevating it from a simple container to a sophisticated vanity anchor.

Specs
Maker: Marks & Rosenfeld (M&R)
Year Made: 1950s
Materials: Porcelain, Gold Gilt, Enamel Transfer
Dimensions: 2" x 4½" x 3½"

Condition
This piece is in excellent vintage condition, free of chips, cracks, or visible crazing.
