Signed "Leica" on the reverse, the piece features a sophisticated execution of "Iris Germanica" in muted lavender and deep plum tones. The artist’s technique utilizes broad, confident brushstrokes for the foliage, contrasted against a tactile, speckled oatmeal glaze that gives the piece an earthy, grounded presence.

Studio pottery of this era is highly collectible for its "one-of-a-kind" nature, bridging the gap between traditional craft and fine art. While many decorative plates are mass-produced, this specific platter showcases hand-applied slips and oxides, ensuring that no two iterations of this floral design are identical. It serves as both a functional serving piece and a significant work of wall-mounted ceramic art.

Condition Report
The platter is in exceptional vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or visible crazing to the glaze. The hand-painted elements remain vibrant without fading, and the structural integrity is sound. The reverse features a securely attached wire hanging mechanism, which remains stable and ready for display.

The Specs
Dimensions: 10.5" Diameter x 1" Depth
Weight: Approximately 2.2 lbs
Materials: High-fired stoneware, lead-free glaze
Year Made: Circa 1985
Maker: Signed "Leica"

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1029/1327/8133/files/p1_9ac91672-e00c-492f-9a9e-52a4a4031370.jpg?v=1788581214
https://thegildedfossicker.com/products/vintage-studio-pottery-platter-hand-painted-purple-iris-botanical-stoneware-dish-861f7baf
