An exceptional 19th-century Chinese Export porcelain wash basin, notable for an impressive 16-inch scale and a vibrant Famille Rose palette. Produced during the Qing Dynasty specifically for the Western market, the bowl is anchored by a beautifully executed central medallion depicting a vibrant lotus pond. Scattered polychrome floral sprays and insect motifs surround the center, framed by an intricate, continuous yellow and blue ruyi cloud border along the inner rim. The exterior contrasts the interior's richness with a minimalist, iron-red painted bamboo motif. Dating to the mid-19th century is confirmed by the characteristic heavy paste, the wide unglazed foot rim typical of traditional wood-fired kilns, and the specific application of the opaque Famille Rose enamels. This piece stands as a highly collectible example of antique Chinoiserie, ideal as a grand centerpiece.
