Originating from the late 19th or early 20th century, this frosted art glass vase strongly reflects the intricate enameling techniques perfected by Bohemian glasshouses of the era. A highly collectible motif of a bumblebee is executed in thick, raised enamel, hovering above meticulously painted wheat stalks, white blossoms, and blue bellflowers. The opaque, satin-finished rectangular body rests on a circular pedestal, anchored by tarnished metal mounts at the rim and base that suggest silverplate or a thin silver overlay. The piece serves as an excellent surviving example of Victorian-era naturalism in decorative arts, offering definitive provenance for collectors of antique art glass and entomological motifs.
