The Fritz Heckert Kunstglas Industrie of Petersdorf, Silesia, produced some of the most celebrated Bohemian art glass of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This monumental ewer, etched with the maker's marks "F.H. 4428 O.28 G-", is an exceptional example of Heckert's Historicism output. Drawing inspiration from Moorish and Islamic antiquities, the vessel is masterfully hand-enameled with intricate pink and gold arabesque motifs over a translucent olive-green glass body. Applied glass cabochons encircle the flared neck and pedestal base, echoing the opulence of the era. The piece exemplifies the technical mastery of Bohemian glass refining, merging elaborate surface decoration with an elegant, hand-blown form.
