Founded in 1763 by King Frederick the Great of Prussia, Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (KPM) Berlin stands as one of Europe's most historically significant porcelain houses. This 19th-century mantel clock and its accompanying custom-fitted stand carry the recognized underglaze cobalt blue scepter and overglaze red orb marks, confirming authentic royal factory provenance. Reflecting the Rococo Revival period, the porcelain case displays hand-painted floral bouquets, sculpted cherub busts, and pronounced fired gold gilding. The clock rests upon a separate, original matching porcelain base designed with a central recess to precisely secure the upper case. A French brass eight-day movement with a bell strike anchors the interior. The documented maker marks, rich history, and complex casework present a substantial acquisition for collectors of historic German porcelain.
