Created by Oregon ceramicist Jerry Pollari, this large shallow bowl is a fine example of Pacific Northwest studio pottery. Active primarily throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Pollari is well-regarded by regional collectors for his bold, expressive glaze work and modernist approach to functional wares. The piece displays his characteristic abstract style, utilizing broad strokes of oxblood red and deep blue against a crisp white ground. Hand-formed, textured tab handles anchor the form. It serves beautifully as either a functional centerpiece or a standalone decorative work.
