Joni Lewis Original Oil Painting - Birch Trees and Lake Landscape, 1975 - Framed 27x21.5

This original landscape by artist Joni Lewis, dated April 1975, depicts a serene lakeside scene framed by the striking white bark of mature birch trees. The composition utilizes a deep blue palette for the water, creating a stark, effective contrast against the vibrant yellow and lime-green foliage of the shoreline. Lewis employed a textured application of paint, particularly in the leaves and forest floor, which gives the piece a tactile, three-dimensional quality characteristic of mid-century regional American landscape art. The work is housed in its original rustic wood frame with a traditional linen liner, reflecting the interior design aesthetics of the mid-1970s.
