This 9.5-inch porcelain vase was produced by Kyoritsu, a Japanese maker known for mid-century exports. The design features a high-gloss black glaze with a traditional iris motif. In Japanese culture, the iris is often associated with strength and protection. The piece includes fine gold gilding along the rim and outlining the petals, which was a standard detail for Kyoritsu pieces from the 1960s and 70s. It’s a solid, well-preserved example of Japanese ceramic work from that period.
