This 1969 edition of the storied Royal Copenhagen Christmas series continues a tradition of Danish craftsmanship that began in 1908. Titled "In the Old Farmyard," this piece was designed by the renowned artist Kaj Lange. The scene captures a quiet moment in the Danish countryside, where geese and small birds gather in the snow before a rustic timber-framed barn. Each plate is produced using the traditional underglaze technique, resulting in the deep, tonal "Copenhagen Blue" that has made these plates a global symbol of Scandinavian winter aesthetics. The reverse bears the three wavy lines representing Denmark’s three ancient waterways: the Sound, the Great Belt, and the Little Belt.
