This handcrafted ceramic soap dish features a functional two-piece design, consisting of a flared rectangular base and a circular perforated insert. The insert is designed with seven drainage holes to keep soap dry, resting securely within the recessed well of the base to allow for easy cleaning. The piece is finished in a split-glaze technique, layering a deep cobalt blue over a speckled sandy-buff stoneware. The underside bears a distinctive hand-painted "S" maker's mark within a circle, characteristic of independent studio pottery. Its substantial weight and textured, matte-to-satin finish suggest a durable, high-fire stoneware construction suitable for high-moisture environments.
