Sue Cockrell Signed Relief Carved Elk Wood Wall Art

This solid wood relief carving is an original piece by Oregon artist Sue Cockrell, who has spent over 30 years working with Pacific Northwest timber. Rather than a standard flat carving, she used the natural growth rings and a large knot in the wood to create a sunburst effect behind the bugling elk.
The piece is carved into a thick, heavy slab with the original bark left on the "live" edges. The depth of the carving is substantial, giving a 3D effect to the elk, the distant cows, and the hoof track in the corner. It is hand-signed on the front and includes a pre-installed hanger.
