This striking "Harvey" vase represents a notable collaboration between the historic Haeger Potteries and the modern design powerhouse Crate & Barrel. Haeger Potteries, established in 1871 in East Dundee, Illinois, was a cornerstone of American ceramic production for nearly 150 years. Known for their innovative glazes and bold, sculptural forms, Haeger became a household name mid-century, and this specific silhouette pays homage to those modernist roots with its elongated neck and rhythmic vertical ribbing.
Collectibility for Haeger pieces has seen a significant resurgence as enthusiasts seek out high-quality, American-made ceramics that bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics. The "Harvey" line is particularly sought after for its impressive scale and the depth of its speckled, satin-finish glaze. Since Haeger ceased all operations in 2016, these collaborative pieces have become finite treasures of a bygone era of domestic manufacturing.
Condition Report
This piece is in excellent vintage condition. The glaze remains vibrant and glossy with the original speckled character fully intact. There are no chips, cracks, or structural repairs noted. The underside retains the original manufacturer’s stamp and the retail inventory sticker from Crate & Barrel. Minor shelf wear is present on the unglazed base ring, consistent with age.
