Vintage Ceramic Butterfly Wall Pocket, Green & Bronze Glaze

This 1990s ceramic butterfly wall pocket has a lovely contrast between its raised green wing markings and textured bronze-brown glaze. The fluted pocket forms the butterfly’s body, giving the small vase a sculptural shape.

Wall pockets have been used for flower displays since at least the eighteenth century. At just 5½ inches wide, this one offers a little spot for dried or artificial flowers beside a doorway or mirror.
