Heavy vintage brass lota from India, traditionally used as an everyday water pot or a ritual kalash. The hand-chased detailing is highly intricate, displaying a primary band of floral motifs framed by geometric borders and leaf patterns along the neck and base. It has a substantial, classic globular shape with a wide flared rim.
The surface remains completely unpolished, showing off a deep, authentic patina. Decades of handling and environmental exposure have left dark tarnish, scattered verdigris, and heavy textural wear. It makes a highly textured, historic accent piece for a bookcase or mantle.
