Crafted by the nomadic Tuareg artisans of the Sahara, this substantial pendant represents a profound piece of North African heritage. Traditionally given by a father to his son to symbolize the four corners of the world, these crosses are believed to serve as powerful protective talismans and navigational guides across the desert. The reverse of the pendant bears three distinct stamped marks, indicating the unique signature of the artisan or tribal lineage in traditional Tifinagh script.
The pendant has a heavy, solid construction cast from a traditional non-magnetic white metal alloy, elegantly hand-engraved with intricate geometric patterns that hold deep cultural significance. An authentic woven cord anchors the piece, detailed with black and red glass trade beads alongside cylindrical metal accents. The impressive scale and authentic oxidized patina mark this as a highly collectible and significant pectoral adornment.
