Vintage Moorcroft Pansy Dish in Cobalt Blue
Vintage Moorcroft Pansy Dish in Cobalt Blue
Couldn't load pickup availability
This small Moorcroft Pansy dish is a lovely example of the English pottery's richly colored floral designs. The burgundy-purple flower and green leaves stand out against the cobalt-blue glaze, with the raised outlines of Moorcroft's characteristic tubelining giving the hand-painted decoration texture and definition.
The base retains its Moorcroft Made in England marks and Potters to the Late Queen Mary paper label, a connection to the royal warrant granted to the pottery in 1928. The wording dates this example to after Queen Mary's death in 1953, during the Walter Moorcroft period. At 4¾ inches across, it is a useful size for rings or small keepsakes on a dressing table, and an attractive addition to a collection of Moorcroft pottery.
