This small tray was handmade by Wendell August Forge in 1990. Based in Pennsylvania, they are known for using a traditional hammer-and-die process to create detailed metalwork. This piece features a raised-relief scene of The Battery in Charleston, South Carolina, capturing the historic homes and palmetto trees along the waterfront. The back is stamped with the maker’s mark, the forge location (Grove City, PA), and the year of production. It’s a solid, well-made piece of American metalwork that works well as a desk tray or a decorative shelf item.
